Winter Fun in Kennebunkport, Maine

December 17th, 2013 Fontenay Terrace Motel

If you are planning your retreat to Kennebunkport in the cooler months of the year you are in for a great treat.  There are a great number of fun activities that you can enjoy now that the peak tourist season is over.

Now that the beaches are deserted for the winter season, there is no better place to go for a nice walk.  Bring along a nice jacket and feel the great ocean breeze or just grab a beach chair and enjoy the waves for a few hours.

If your trip is during the Christmas season Dock Square is lit up for the holiday season and complete with a Christmas tree.  One of the most popular events to attend is our “Christmas Prelude”.  There are carolers, concerts and more.  Also many of the stores in town offer great discounts and deals to start the shopping season off right.

Since you are in the holiday spirit we recommend taking a short trip across town to The Rockin’ Horse Stables.  They offer horse-drawn carriage, wagon and… SLEIGH RIDES.   After your ride is through you will be treated to some of the best hot chocolate in Maine.

Interested in cross country skiing or snow shoeing? Visit Harris Farm in Dayton, Maine.  There are runs for beginners to advanced skiers.  They also offer lessons if you are looking to start skiing, or just improve your skills.

Whether you are traveling as a family or making it a couples only vacation there are many activities that groups or families can enjoy.  No matter what the season is there are great times to be had, guaranteed, in Kennebunkport, Maine.
