White Columns Exhibit in Kennebunkport, Maine

July 21st, 2014 Fontenay Terrace Motel

Are you looking for something fun to do while staying at Fontenay Terrace Motel? One great thing to do while you’re out and about in Kennebunkport is to visit Walkers Point and the White Columns Exhibit.
Walkers point is the summer home to the Bush family. The former President, and his wife Laura, will stay there for half the year and enjoy all that Maine has to offer. The people of Kennebunkport love the Bush family, including the 41st president, George Bush Sr.
Another great place to see inside the lives of the Bush family is to check out the While Columns Exhibit at the First Family Museum in the Historical District.
For years it was referred to as “The Nott House.” Inside White Columns, you will see authentic decorations from the time period including French hand-painted wallpaper, antiques, linens, and beautiful chandeliers. The First Families Kennebunkport museum is a recent addition that has really sparked tourism in the area.
There are guided tours offered by the Historical Society, which is filled with many exciting stories such as the days of sea captains and ship builders. They even give you the inside scoop with fun stories about the entire Bush family and their legacy.
Even more recently, the White Columns Exhibit was fortunate enough to receive items loaned to them by the Bush family that came from George W.H. Bush’s 90th birthday.
On display you can see items such as his jumpsuit, gifts from President Clinton, President Putin, an urn from the King of Morocco, and much much more! They will be on display for the remainder of the summer.
