There may be twelve days in Christmas, but there are also twelve days in Kennebunkport’s celebration Christmas Prelude. For twelve days there are crafting workshops, live entertainment, visits and breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, great food, tree lightings, Christmas films, and loads of other fun things to do.

Beginning on December 2nd with a snowflake ornament workshop and a showing of The Santa Claus at the Nonantum Resort complete with popcorn every day until the 14th is filled with activities for the whole family. There are gift-wrapping services available, the proceeds of which go to local charities, the Nonantum hosts meals and live entertainment and a different Christmas film each day – films like, The Grinch, It’s a Wonderful Life, Polar Express, and Elf.

There is also shopping galore, the Art and Artisan Gallery with paintings under $200, and plenty of kiosks and shops to buy or get ideas for Christmas gifts. Christmas lights and lit trees are everywhere, giving the town a fantasy-like atmosphere. Santa comes in on a lobster boat, much to the delight of all.

There is karaoke and DJ music, arts and crafts shows, food tastings, all with a strong feeling of community and goodwill. You will make new friends, meet old ones, and find joy in the 12 days of festivities. Ride the Seashore Trolley, and take the Christmas tree tour. There is an event planned for every minute of the exciting and inspiring twelve days.

The Fontenay Terrace still has some rooms available for your visit with us, and our hospitality is second to none. You will rest in the comfort of a cozy room, and be right near all the events. We are a nice place to come home to after enjoying all the festivities.

Kennebunkport’s Christmas Prelude is a fabulous way to spend a pre-holiday vacation. Stay for all twelve days, just a few, or the weekend. You won’t be disappointed, and will definitely get into the holiday spirit.
