3 Sites to visit in Kennebunkport

September 14th, 2012 Fontenay Terrace Motel

If you come to Kennebunkport, there are a few places that you need to see, all of which can accommodate an affordable weekend getaway. So, make sure to see these places while on your stay at our waterfront inn:

1 – St Ann’s Church – Whether or not you consider yourself to be religious, this church offers a look into some truly unique architecture. It’s rustic stone exterior and wood-lines interior offer a beautiful sight, while the grounds and seaside view just elevate the experience. A truly idyllic scene!

2 – Wedding Cake House – This private home boasts the title of “Most Photographed Building in Maine” and you can stroll by to see some lovely carpenter-gothic architecture. The name comes from the whimsical appearance and it was built almost 2 centuries ago. Plus, by a rare chance, the Wedding Cake house will be open for tours, the proceeds of which will go toward food pantries. Tours start tomorrow, Sept 15, and run through Oct 15 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

3 – Walker’s Point – Walk along Parson’s Way and catch a glimpse of a former president’s home. While the first President Bush is not exactly Queen Elizabeth and Walker’s Point isn’t exactly Warwick Castle, it’s a pretty cool place and a gorgeous piece of real estate.
